Week 1 to 4 - Learning with MCR Codes

My experience with @MCRcodes as a Quality Assurance Tester. This is an evening part-time coding boot camp based in central Manchester which runs for 24 weeks, from February 2018 to July 2018.

Week 1 - Meet up with Michael (Coach) and class. Everyone is very friendly and it feels like we all already know each other very well. Started off with setting up our laptop with typical software used by mainstream developers. Got comfortable using GIT and CLI.
Session 1 - Getting Set Up

Week 2 - Weekly standup and retrospective have been carried out just like in the working environment. Started learning the fundamentals of JavaScript, and using npm and Jest. Additionally worked in pairs on practical tasks which also included committing work simultaneously to GitHub. This week assignment was on basic fundamentals of JavaScript which consists of numbers, strings, booleans, arrays, and objects.
Session 2 - npm and Jest

Week 3 - This week have been very interesting. Last week basic fundamentals of JavaScript assignment have been very challenging were I and some of the class members had difficulty getting our head around arrays, and objects. The lecturers rearrange the week planned session and focus on helping us with these challenges. The area I found most fascinating was whole class involvement coding a small shopping basket program using objects and arrays. Additionally, a study group has been arranged by a class member which we are all very excited about.
Session 1 - Clean Code &  Finding the Answers
Session 2 - Group Programming Workshop - Till Application

Week 4 - Now we have a good understanding of JavaScript, moved onto Constructor function and Prototype object. This topic has been quite difficult to understanding, however, the lecturers have given us good understanding with a breakdown on how it works in browser console mode and good old fashion whiteboard. Plus this week assignment has been very enjoyable and rewarding to do, reminded me of Tamagotchi. I feel a lot more comfortable with GIT configuration management tools, npm package manager, and jest testing software.
